01E 6-speed Minimal Repair Kit for 1-2 Shift Problem (JHM-Performance) w/ JHM Collar
Following the introduction of our JHM Performance Carbon Synchros for the 01E transmission, we are VERY excited to announce the release of our JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar!!! Our new 1-2 collar allows us to offer yet another 01E Minimal Repair Kit with JHM Performance Carbon Synchros and A JHM Update 1-2 Shift Collar for a MUCH lower price than OEM synchros and OEM 1-2 Collar while providing better performance.
Fits all 01E transmissions with the EDU (B5 S4), FZY, DSY, FZV, FDP(B5 RS4), FTU, FTG and FZW transmission codes.
If you are just looking to fix your locked up 1-2 collar in your 01E transmission by replacing it with our brand new, JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar and have all new JHM PERFORMANCE CARBON synchros, then this is the kit for you. NOTE: Our JHM 1-2 Synchro is a direct replacement for OEM PN 012-311-247-H and only works correctly with our JHM updated 1-2 collar (direct replacement for OEM PN 01E-311-239-L) or the OEM updated 1-2 Shift Collar (OEM PN 01E-311-239-L) with the updated engagement angle. NOTE: Our 3-4-5-6 Synchro is a direct replacement for OEM PN 012-311-395-F and works with factory and replacement 3-4 and 5-6 collars.
We developed our JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar and our JHM Performance Carbon Synchros based on the demands of testing and abusing the 01E Transmission since early 2007. Prior to the release of our JHM Performance Carbon Synchros, we started long term testing on our JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar. In typical JHM fashion, we installed this 1-2 collar on our record setting B5-S4 and put it through miles and miles of hard launches, high rpm 1-2 shifts, and general abuse and the collar has performed exceptionally. We've also put the JHM Updated 1-2 Collar through rigorous long term testing driving it for miles installed on our shop B5-S4 along with several other cars for thousands of miles.

The JHM Performance Carbon Synchros featured in this minimal repair kit were in the JHM B5-S4 during our record setting 10.8 second quarter mile pass in December of 2011:
Both our JHM Performance Carbon Synchros and JHM Updated 1-2 Collar were tested on several cars for thousands of miles before release. We even took the JHM B5-S4 to Las Vegas for Wuste 2012, we had our JHM Performance Carbon Synchros installed.
NOTE: This is a minimal repair kit ONLY to patch up your transmission and just fix the bad 1-2 shift collar and the 1st and 2nd gear synchros.
INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- JHM PERFORMANCE CARBON updated 1 and 2 synchronizer rings only. NOTE: Our 1-2 Synchro is a direct replacement for OEM PN 012-311-247-H and only works correctly with the OEM updated 1-2 collar PN 01E-311-239-L for the correct engagement angle. It will NOT work correctly with any other PN 1-2 shift collar.
- OEM synchronizer springs (2)
- JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar (Outer collar only; the inner collar never fails. If yours is locked up, just press it apart and install it in the JHM Updated Collar.) The outer collar is the part that causes 1st and/or 2nd gear to lock up when it fails.
- OEM input shaft seal
- OEM case gasket
OPTIONS: If you want to at least replace the 3rd and 4th gear synchros as well since they are prone to failure, we sell them individually as well. Go back to the "Transmission Parts" section and select the "01E Synchro (JHM-Performance), 3rd-4th-5th-6th Gear - EACH" product. You can then add however many extra JHM Performance Carbon Synchros to your Repair Kit that you want. Replacing these synchros, will decrease your chances later of having to take your transmission apart later for a 3rd or 4th gear synchro.
NOTE: This is the MINIMAL kit just to repair 1st and 2nd. It does not come with any other synchros for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, nor does it come with output shaft seals. JH Motorsports does NOT recommend this repair since it is likely you will have to take your transmission apart again for 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear synchros or have to address output shaft seal leaks later.
